Brid Walsh

Brid qualified in 2004 with a BSC Honours Degree in Sports and Exercise Science from the University of Limerick, Ireland. In evaluating her future path, she spent a summer in Alaska with the Hope Foundation supporting disabilities of various sorts. Her further work experience in the Rehabilitation Centre in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin convinced her that Physiotherapy was the direction she wished to specialise in. In 2007 she subsequently qualified from the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen with an MSC in Physiotherapy.

I would highly recommend Alba Physiotherapy. Our dog has been attending sessions for over 6 months now. She has numerous issues with her legs and spine. I haven't had the best personal experience with physio in the past (this was not with Alba), so I was a little sceptical but she has improved significantly in the time she has been attending sessions. Brid is extremely knowledgeable and always adapts sessions to whatever our dog needs. Tabitha is an asset to the company and is extremely efficient in helping with insurance forms and any admin enquiries we have had. It's honestly been a pleasure to be a customer and the new site at Brodie is fantastic for us!

I have sore knees and was worried about having to have a knee replacement. I also have sciatica and an aching back. I really didn’t know which to get treatment for. I was delighted when she discussed and treated all three ailments, and was genuinely interested in my health and well-being.I came home with a set of exercises which I have religiously done every morning.I can now get up and downstairs with only the slightest twinge in the knee. My back is always a problem, it’s not a sore as it was and I don’t know what’s happened to my sciatica, it used to start in the bone in the middle of my right bun cheek and run down the back of my leg like lightning to my ankle. Now it’s just in my bum cheek, sometimes the back thigh, and very rarely my lower calf but never the back of my knee! Magic.When I am proficient at my exercises - I do them all, but only manage half the repeats - l shall return for further instructions.PS I hate “The Clam” exercise.PPS The staff are warm, friendly, genuine people.PPPS I would go more often but my purse won’t allow it (pensioner),

Absolutely 1st class service, needed legs taped for 1/2 Marathon, was done and never felt a thing during race, followed up with full massage a day after race, very experienced and knowledgeable got all tightness out of hamstrings and showed me some excersiesAll in all highly professional and highly recommended

Needed a physio as my grandson picked up a knee injury at rugby. Emailed at 8:15 on a Friday morning, got a phone call straight away and a 9am appointment, fantastic service and assessment/ advice from Claude to put our mind at ease and advice going forward. Cara was excellent and ensured Cooper was at ease during his appointment. He was extremely relaxed and loved the extra attention he was getting during his massage. Cara was also very good at explaining what she was doing, which helps me to understand Coopers' injuries and treatment plan better

Our dog has is currently attending Alba Vet Physio following surgery for paralysis caused by IVDD.From the first visit, her physiotherapist Cara has been very gentle and calm whilst encouraging her to retain her mobility. I’m happy to report that, between the weekly sessions and the home exercise routine that Cara suggested, Kaley mobility is increasing every week.Unfortunately I can’t seem to attach the videos of her.

I was referred to Alba following knee replacement surgery. From initial contact, they were friendly, helpful and professional. The physio I saw was excellent and most reassuring about my recovery. The exercise programme being easily available via their online app is brilliant. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

I had 8 weeks of hydro and laser therapy at ALBA physio and had a brilliant experience from all sides of the team - booking was easy, sessions were really professional and it's clear the whole team care deeply for the animals they are treating. Bramble and I really appreciated them and are now significantly down the road of recovery thanks to them!

We’ve been using Alba Veterinary Physio for a while now, and it’s done wonders for our bulldog Buddy, who has numerous issues with his hips and hind legs. The laser treatment and massage helps him relax, and the water treadmill has been wonderful for building up his leg muscles - within a few sessions he’d stopped falling over when he runs, and we now return for maintenance, to keep him his best self. More recently, our senior Frenchie has also started at Alba, and there was a marked improvement in her posture after just one session. She’s having sessions every 2 or 3 weeks now, to keep up the muscle tone in her hind legs, and help her overall conditioning. So much better than putting the dogs through surgery. Thank you!

Joy made a detailed and accurate diagnosis of my dog’s lameness . She explained the cause of the problem. The treatment ( massage , exercise , laser therapy and hydrotherapy) ,combined with exercises she gave us to do with Bramble, have produced rapid results . My dog is no longer limping, is less stiff and has regained muscle mass . I am very impressed with their professionalism.

Great physiotherapy clinic! They were very accommodating to the urgent nature of my injury. The whole team was friendly, helpful, and most importantly were on point with a diagnosis of the issue. Follow up exercises are making a marked difference to my recovery. Would highly recommend!

Very pleased with the care, treatment and advice I have received. Appointment was easily set up with confirmation from Brid by email and a reminder sent the day before. Location is a bit tricky to find but Google Maps takes you there.Very friendly and knowledgeable staff - Joy made sure our dog was calm and relaxed before starting physio. Each exercise was clearly explained and demonstrated.Excellent follow up from Tabitha and with a link to exercise videos to be performed at home and a check in on our dog's welfare after the session.I would highly recommend Alba Veterinary Physio and we look forward to our next session.Richard (and Zappa the Lab)

Jimmy had surgery for a herniated disc in January and was left unable to stand and with minimal movement in his back legs. I was given basic physio exercises by the vet to do with him at home but decided he needed extra help hence contacting Alba. He has since been having weekly physio with Joy and 4 months later is able to stand for short periods and walk, still with assistance, but is so much stronger and making steady progress. We were told it would be a long job to get him back on his feet, I think without the extra physio he wouldn't have come this far this quickly. Although he hates the hydrotherapy treadmill and being a lazy Greyhound won't put in much effort, it has all definitely helped him. The extra exercises and advice I have been given has proved invaluable, and I know that should we need any help in future I can contact them. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone faced with a similar situation.
