Introducing Our New CPD Blog Series
At Alba Physiotherapy, we believe that good physiotherapy is about more than simply treating the problem in front of us. Itâs about continuing to learn, questioning what we do, keeping up with the latest evidence and constantly looking for ways to improve the care we provide to our patients.
Thatâs why weâre introducing a new CPD Blog Series.
Throughout this series, our physiotherapists will be sharing some of the learning they undertake as part of their ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD). This might include exploring new research, looking at different treatment approaches, reflecting on clinical cases, developing our assessment and rehabilitation skills, or taking a closer look at topics that are particularly relevant to our patients.
Why CPD matters
Physiotherapy is constantly evolving. New research, technology and approaches to rehabilitation mean that there is always something new to learn.
For our team, CPD isnât simply something we complete because we have to. Itâs an important part of maintaining high standards of clinical practice and making sure our knowledge continues to develop.
We regularly attend courses, read research, discuss cases, undertake training and share knowledge as a team. Our CPD helps us to think critically about our practice and consider whether there are better or more effective ways of helping the people we work with.
Sharing our learning
We wanted to bring some of that learning outside the clinic and share it with you.
Our CPD blogs will give you an insight into some of the subjects our clinicians are exploring and the thinking behind our approach to physiotherapy.
Some posts will be quite clinical, while others will look at topics in a way that is useful and accessible to anyone interested in their health, movement and rehabilitation.
You donât need to be a physio to enjoy them â although some of the more technical ones might be particularly interesting for other healthcare professionals and students.
Learning, reflecting and improving
One of the most valuable parts of CPD is reflection. Itâs not just about learning something new; itâs about considering how that knowledge applies to the people we treat and how it might influence our clinical decisions.
We want our clinicians to remain curious, ask questions and challenge their own thinking. That culture of learning is an important part of who we are at Alba Physiotherapy.
So, over the coming months, weâll be adding new CPD blogs covering a range of topics from across our clinical practice.
We hope you enjoy following along with what our team is learning â and perhaps pick up something useful along the way.
Keep an eye out for our first CPD blog. đ
